The Story of Cabin Funk
Cabin Funk is a sativa-heavy hybrid created by The Mad Botanist deep in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The story begins 20 years ago during college where seeds of only the very best strains were collected: Big Bud (indica-dominated), Purple Haze (sativa-dominated), White Widow (sativa-dominated), along with many others. A prized home town skunk strain was added to up the funk factor. The Mad Botanist took this seed stash to a small, funky Vermont cabin and combined the prize attributes from each strain until the perfect high was achieved. Cabin Funk was born.
This sativa heavy hybrid gives you happy energy to go out and explore the world. The indicia side provides a stony, euphoric feeling with a body buzz and is great for those times you just want to relax and watch a movie. The complex collection of terpenes (some shown below) give it a sweet floral scent with notes of pine and citrus. Cabin Funk, true, down to the roots, Vermont cannabis.
A Mad Botanist exclusive cultivar, only found in Vermont. Organically grown. A complex bouquet of terpenes includes the following (among others):
- Limonene, believed to help with anxiety and stress relief. Also found in lemon rind, orange rind and juniper.
- Myrcene, known to have calming effects. Also found in thyme, mango and lemongrass.
- Caryophyllene, also known to have anti-inflammatory effects. Also found in black pepper, cloves and cinnamon.
- Pinene, helpful for pain, inflammation and anxiety. Also found in pine needles, rosemary and basil.
For the full list of terpenes, see the Testing results page.
To produce seeds, The Mad Botanist collects pollen from the male plants (center photo on right) and pollinates the female plant (top and bottom photos on right), which then produces seeds to grow more Cabin Funk.
